As the air grows crisper and the days shorten, a certain magical aura seems to descend upon us, heralding the arrival of the spooky season (our favorite season!) So as Halloween approaches, we're delighted to announce the return of Psychic and tarot card reading night on Friday 27th October! (7 - 10PM)
Whether you're a believer or simply curious, this is your chance to explore the mystical arts up close. Our clairvoyant will be providing personalized table service readings, including palmistry, tarot cards, and crystal ball insights. Have your fate revealed while indulging in WC's devilishly delicious halloween inspired cocktails!

Offering private hire 7 days of the week, our 130 year old subterranean cocktail bar can host up to 50 guests and cater for every special event you can think of (plus there’s no room hire charge!).
Venue hire is completely exclusive, equipped with your own private bar, mixologists and hosts. Welcome drinks on arrival are available as well as bespoke drinks packages. If you have any other special requirements, let us know and we will try our very best to accommodate.
WC’s Gin Closet, High Bridge Newcastle
Ideally located in Newcastle’s City Centre, we offer private hire of our beautiful venue from Sunday - Thursday, with no booking/hire fees. With an elegant space for just 15 people, we create a memorable and personalized experience for each and every guest. As you step inside, you'll be transported to a cosy haven where you can unwind, socialise, and appreciate the artistry behind every gin creation. The warm lighting, carefully chosen decor, and inviting ambiance create the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening with guests.

If you haven't been to one of our Tipsy Tea Parties yet…you’re missing out! Taking place on the last Sunday of each month, we can’t think of a better way to spend your Sunday afternoon.
Eat your way through 3 tiers of indulgent cakes & afternoon savory snacks. Think scones, sausage rolls, biscoff & creme egg brownies, rocky road, NYC cookies and lots more! (Please note: our baked goods change each month depending on event theme/availability)
Enjoy bottomless free-flowing bubbles, mocktails & a selection of bottled beers. Also, did we mention ALL of our signature cocktails are bottomless too!
£35 for 1.5 hours of bottomless fun! Time slots are 12:00 pm-13:30 pm or 2pm-3:30pm.

Spooky season (our favourite season) has finally arrived here at WC and it’s set to be absolutely fang-tastic! October will be packed full of fa-boo-lous spooky treats and events to get you in the Halloween spirit.
This year, we’ve taken inspiration from classic horror movies to transform our subterranean bar into a decorative lair which will be sure to give you the heebie-jeebies! Over the past few months, we’ve been brewing up some new, delicious tipples for this year's limited edition Halloween cocktail menu. This divine cocktail menu will run from October 10th until October 31st so mark your calendars and hurry in! Do you dare to drink with us this Halloween?
Why not join us for a glimpse into your future with our Psychic night on Friday 28th October? Come and take a look into our crystal ball at our first-ever psychic event as we welcome the mysterious clairvoyant, Hedvig Starhawk into our underground spooky bar! We will be hosting a one-of-a-kind psychic party where you can experience palmistry, tarot card and crystal ball readings. Hedvig will be providing table service entertainment for you & your friends or there is also the option for 1-2-1 private readings … if you dare to take a look into your future! This event is free but we highly recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment!
Sunday 30th October is also a date for your diaries as we will be hosting our Halloween-themed Tipsy Tea party but don’t worry, there’s no tricks… just treats! For £35pp enjoy three tiers of luxurious cakes and sweet treats (and when we say these cakes are delicious … even vampires will want to sink their teeth into them!) alongside bottomless drinks. Bottomless drinks include all of WC’s signature cocktails including our limited edition Halloween cocktails, bottomless bubbles, sparkling spritz, and a selection of bottled beers and mocktails. Make sure to put on your best witch’s hat, frightening masks and your spookiest makeup… the spookier the better!
During the spooky season, our sister cocktail bar WC’s Gin Closet will also be having its very own Halloween makeover as we put our frightening twist on the classic horror movie, A Nightmare on Elm St. Or as we like to call it 'A Nightmare on High Bridge’. Find four frighteningly fantastic new cocktails on our signature Halloween menu that will be available from October 10th until October 31st. Gin Masterclass
Saturday 15th October is a date for the diary! We are delighted to be welcoming the Mobile Gin School to WC’s Gin Closet from 12-3pm. Born through the gin-spired Charlie and Jamie on the outskirts of York, this Gin loving couple share the same passion for gin as we do. So we’ve teamed up to put on the perfect Gin Master Class for all you gin lovers!
Enjoy an afternoon filled with exciting gin crafting activities, including an introduction to the history of gin and learning about the distilling processes and all the different botanical flavours. It gets even better because you will also be creating your own personalised bottle of craft gin for you to take home to enjoy… or perhaps as a gift for a loved one with that added personal touch!

Friday Night Live Music
Here at WC we pride ourselves for living up to the high standards we set, so once again on the last Friday of the month we are happy to welcome Conor Walsh and his acoustic, upbeat tunes to give this month a proper send off!
Newcastle has a long history of amazing artists and Conor is here to remind us that the well has not run dry yet. Born and bred in our fair city, Conor grew up listening and learning from the greats like The Beatles and Oasis all the way up to modern icons like Sam Smith and Ed Sheeran. As self taught artist, he picked up the guitar 5 years ago and has been gigging non stop since 2019! He has entertained our city for the last few years and you can probably recognize his lovely voice from around town. We’re Beyond excited to have him over and introduce him to you, so we invite you to join us on this lovely night to celebrate the end of the summer the right way!

WC’s Secret Recipe!
The secret recipe handbook is still in the wind and those very same winds have favored you my friend. It has blown one of our best kept secrets to your feet. A mixture conceived under the rare full moon of the North. The Moonlight Spritz.
To recreate these flavors you going to need:
25ml Brugal Anejo(toasty aromas of light toffee and hints of chocolate, honey and molasses)
25ml homemade and hand pressed blackberry syrup
20ml Crème de Cassis de Dijon
20ml Fuji apple juice or the sweetest apple juice you can find
10ml Fresh Lemon Juice
3 Black Beauté Blackberries(sweet, fragrant berries with few prickles)
1 Orange
1 Sprig of Rosemary
Equipment you need:
Jigger, shaker and a wine Glass
Step 1
Muddle 3 Black Beaute blackberries in your shaker till all the natural juice and sweeteners have bled through the blackberries.
Step 2
Using your jigger, pour your Brugal Anejo and Crème de Cassis de Dijon with the blackberry syrup in your shaker.
Step 3
Shake as hard as you can the ingredients you have poured so far with no ice to mix the alcohol with all the sweet, natural juices.
Step 4
Time to add all the non alcoholic parts, pour the sweet apple juice and lemon juice in the shaker.
Step 5
Add loads of ice in the shaker and shake, shake and shake!
Step 6
Dirty pour( empty the shaker into your wine glass) and watch the beautiful accenting reaction of the muddled blackberries and sweet apple juice fill up your glass.
Step 7
Finish the Moonlight Spritz with a crescent shaped slice of orange and a fresh sprig of rosemary.
